William Harmison was born July 29, 1800, in Belmont County, Ohio.

His parents were Thomas Harmeson and Nancy (Unknown).(2)

William Harmison married Elizabeth Farnsworth married August 17, 1824, in York Township, Belmont County, Ohio.

Elizabeth Farnsworth was born May 20, 1805, in Hampshire, Virginia.(5)

She was the daughter of Robert Aram Farnsworth and Mary Kirkbride, who were married February 4, 1796, in Hampshire, Virginia (now West Virginia).(UU)

William and Elizabeth (Farnsworth) Harmeson were the parents of twelve children:

1)
Isaiah Harmeson was born May 13, 1825, in Belmont County, Ohio. He married Melissa Perkins in 1849 or 1850.

2)
John Harmeson was born April 8, 1827, in Saint Clairsville, Belmont County, Ohio. He married Matilda Perkins on June 8, 1848. He died July 30, 1910, in St. Joseph, Champaign County, Illinois.

3)
Thomas Harmeson was born April 10, 1829, in Marion, Ohio. He married Sarah Ann Perkins. He died March 20, 1911, in Homer, Champaign County, Illinois.

4)
Robert Harmeson was born March 8, 1831, in Marion, Ohio. He married Annie Ray. She was born December 10, 1837, and died April 12, 1912. Robert died in Healdsburg, California, on October 17, 1909.

5)
William Jackson Harmeson was born April 12, 1833, in Madison County, Indiana. He married Sarah Jane Connett. She was born February 21, 1840, and died May 27, 1927. William died December 21, 1917, in Runnels, Iowa.

6)
Nancy Harmeson was born March 5, 1835, in Madison, Indiana. She married Abner Hart. He was born January 7, 1837, and he died in 1871. Nancy died June 12, 1874, in Homer, Champaign County, Illinois.

Elizabeth H. Harmeson was born May 25, 1837, in Madison County, Indiana. She married Michael C. Bailey. She died December 5, 1903, in Sonoma County, California, and was buried in Healdsburg, California.

8)
Sarah Jane Harmeson was born April 10, 1839, in Madison County, Indiana. She married Robert Moody. He was born in 1834.

9)
Esther Elvira Harmeson was born May 12, 1841, in Indiana. She died in 1886.

Olivia Harmeson was born March 5, 1843, in Indiana. She married Francis Marion Swain. She died January 31, 1890.

11)
Washington M. Harmeson was born February 2, 1845 and died about 1855.

Mary Harmeson was born August 29, 1847 and died in 1847.

Isaiah Harmison married Melissa Perkins about 1848 when he was about 23 years old and she was about 18 years old.
(6) Melissa Perkins probably was born either December 15, 1829, or January 23, 1830, in Indiana.(7) She was the daughter of George Perkins and Agnes Allen.(8) George Perkins married Agnes Allen on February 24, 1829, in Wayne County, Indiana.(9) George Perkins was born October 15, 1808, in Greenbrier County, Virginia (now West Virginia).(10) Agnes Allen probably was born in 1811 in Surry County, North Carolina.(11)

Since the father of Isaiah, William Harmison, is listed in the 1840 census of Madison Co., Indiana, it is probable that Isaiah met and married his wife while he was in that area.

William Harmeson married Nancy Swain on August 15, 1858, in Danville, Illinois. She was born March 19, 1810, in Pennsylvania.

William Harmeson died April 30, 1875. He was buried in the Old Homer Cemetery in Casey, Illinois.
