Nathaniel Starbuck, Sr. was born 20 February 1634/35 in Dover, Stafford, New Hampshire.(1) He died 06 June 1719 in Nantucket, Massachusetts.(2) He was the son of Edward Starbuck and Catherine Reynolds.(3)
Nathaniel Starbuck married Mary Coffin in 1662 at Nantucket, Massachusetts.(4) Mary Coffin born 20 February 1644/45 in Haverhill, Massachusetts.(5) She died 13 November 1717 in Nantucket, Massachusetts.(6) Mary Coffin was the daughter of Tristram Coffin and Dionis Stevens.(7)

iii. Nathaniel Starbuck was born 09 August 1668 at Nantucket, Massachusetts.(18) Nathaniel died 9th, 2 mo. 1753 at Nantucket, Massachusetts.(19) He married Dinah Coffin 20 November 1690.(20) Dinah Coffin was born 5 mo. 1674, the daughter of James Coffin and Mary Severance.(21)

“At the time of his death Nathaniel Starbuck was doubtless one of the wealthiest, if not individually the wealthiest men on the Island. He owned three full shares of land, having purchased a share of Stephen Greenleaf. His wife was one of the ablest women who ever lived on Nantucket and her advice and influence were noteworthy factors in the conduct of affairs. She was the leading spirit in the organization of the Society of Friends.”(41) Mary Starbuck, daughter of Nathaniel and Mary (Coffin) Starbuck, was the first English child born on Nantucket.(42)
